DrFirst, the nation’s leading e-prescribing and solutions platform provider, announced today the launch of Patient Advisorsm, a medication adherence solution that works within DrFirst’s Rcopia e-prescribing platform, or any EMR or HIT solution. Staywell, SampleMD, and Adheris, Inc., an inVentiv Health Company. Patient Advisor is free for licensed providers.
“DrFirst’s Patient Advisor provides physicians with instant access to patient-specific information, enabling them to quickly provide highly customized care and resources tailored to their patients’ conditions. DrFirst’s Patient Advisor is the first solution to combine evidence-based behavioral, clinical, and financial patient support resources and tools into a single platform within the EMR and e-prescribing workflow,” says Chris Cresswell, general manager of Patient Innovations at DrFirst. “Physicians have a powerful new tool to better support patients between office visits.”
The Patient Advisor platform provides physicians with a patient report card to gain insight into their patients’ prescription fill rates. New functionality will also include changes in lab values, medication possession ratios, cross comparative analysis between fill rates and lab values, as well as other pertinent data. Early data already suggests this tool can improve medication adherence rates by more than 59%.
Each evidence-based tool that resides on the Patient Advisor platform is provided by the industry leader in its respective area of expertise. For example, Krames Staywell is the leader in supporting patients with education; SampleMD is the leading co-pay card vendor in the EMR channel; and Adheris is the leading and largest provider of direct-to-patient medication adherence programs. The strategic collaboration with these best-in-class partners also brings significant funding for these programs from more than 150 pharmaceutical brands.
“Realizing that patients need personalized support with management of their disease, our goal with Patient Advisor is first, to make it easy for physicians to access a patient report card in their workflow to identify those “at-risk” and “high-risk” patients that have a history of non-adherence, clinical care gaps or other important risk factors and second, to empower physicians to support patients between office visits with financial, behavioral, and clinical resources tailored to their conditions, treatments, and self-management of disease,” noted Cresswell.
Recognizing that many EMRs will want to bring some or all of these services to their physicians, DrFirst has designed the product to work either with its flagship Rcopia e-prescribing platform, or with any eRx, EMR or HIT platform.
“The industry needs a standard platform that integrates the very best of individual capabilities for seamless execution and consolidated reporting,” comments G. Cameron Deemer, president of DrFirst. “This is clearly how we are differentiating our platform from other solutions that are tactic specific.”
