This October, staff members of one Naples boutique hotel are promoting breast cancer awareness through pink-themed initiatives. October 04, 2012
The INN at Pelican Bay is partnering with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® foundation during the month of October, 2012, to help make its guests more aware of the realities of breast cancer.
Throughout the entirety of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the INN will be donating a portion of its room sales to the charitable foundation, which provides support and education to women everywhere affected by the disease.
In addition, staff members have committed to utilizing the traditional light pink of the cause in a variety of ways. Every single team member has volunteered to include pink in their wardrobe each day, as well as wear pink ribbons, use pink paper for all check-in folios and receipts, write with pink pens, and more. Other aspects of the hotel have “gone pink,” including the large front lobby flower centerpiece and icing on the breakfast buffet’s donuts.
During October, guests of the Inn at Pelican Bay can join the hotel’s efforts by reading the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® brochure in their guest rooms, filling out paper “donation ribbons” and dropping the slips off at the front desk. The ribbons will be hung in the lobby as a symbol of the continuing quest to end breast cancer forever.
