Small Business Administration, is leading a publicity campaign to get Romney to change the focus of the U.S. Presidential election—off Obama and onto the entire Democratic Party.

Using the high-profile Indiegogo fundraising website to gain a 15 minute meeting with Romney, the site asks, “What if… the reason to vote for the Democrats is based on a lie?”

It then explains, “The Democrats have based their entire election on a lie that is easy to disprove...Suddenly undecided voters would have something new to consider for the first time… the truth about how the Democrats (and not Bush, as they claim) are the ones who really broke the economy they cannot fix… and how they’ve been lying to the American people about what they’re doing.”

The main element of the site is a short-video that outlines, as Bond explains, “…the two lies at the heart of the Democrats’ entire re-election campaign.”

  •     Lie #1: That President Obama and the Democrats inherited the bad economy from President Bush (“Do you want to go back to the Bush policies that got us in this mess in the first place?”); (CNN Politics, Obama Campaign Releases 17-Minute Ad: "The Road We've Traveled" -- March 15, 2012)
  •     Lie #2: That Obama is finally making progress, having created millions of new jobs (“…so let him finish the job he’s started.”). (CNN Fact Check: About those 4.5 million jobs... -- September 5, 2012)

The video shows historical footage of Clinton and aides explaining how they caused the economic meltdown, not Bush...This includes the Democrats winning control of both houses of Congress in 2005, just 15 months prior to the banking crisis… and their blocking Bush’s 17 attempts to “stop the madness.” (The White House / Official Log, Setting the Record Straight: Six Years of Unheeded Warnings for GSE Reform -- October 9, 2008)

Then, a CNN report debunks the Democrats’ repeated claims that Obama has made progress by creating 4 ½ million new jobs since taking office. The report attacks the jobs claim as designed to mislead the public—the truth being he’s actually lost 1.1 million jobs. (CNN Fact Check: About those 4.5 million jobs... -- September 5, 2012)

Bond says his approach is based on the work of Richard Wirthlin, the strategist who got Reagan elected by a landslide. He adds that Romney's big mistake is going after such a charismatic President when the party is much more vulnerable.

As he explains, "Romney's criticisms of Obama have not moved the crucial undecided voters. But a new message would change everything for these voters, especially if it nullifies the party's central re-election argument." (CNN Politics, Obama above 50% in some battleground polls -- September 26, 2012)

Bond claims his goal is to: “…meet with Romney for 15 minutes, to explain two specific items. But I would be content with Romney and the Republican campaigns simply adopting this approach.”

He acknowledges that Romney is not the best speaker, but answers, “We don’t need another great speaker...He is the founder of The Father-Daughter Project and Previous to that, for more than twelve years he was president of Leadership Management Associates of California, Inc., where he provided strategic consulting and training to Fortune 500 Companies.
