The upgrades, he said, have been in the works for a while and are designed to provide consumers a more functional kit without significantly increasing the price.
The most visible change is the redesigned Warning Sign that comes packed in the kit along with an upgraded military style back pack, survival knife, and other tools. The kits also come is several different versions but the most popular is the Zombie Apocalypse Survival Kits v2012 which retails for $124.99.
When asked, why this kit has proven to be so popular, Colon said that the marketing research shows that it is a combination of serious and fun both at the same time. Colon went on to say that the company’s marketing tag line for the Zombie Kits is “if you are prepared for zombies, you are prepared for anything.” And, that he said was by design. This kit contains food, water, and other recommended emergency supplies. This kit is not a gimmick; it is a serious emergency kit with a fun theme. Huber added that the kit will continue to be available for retail purchase on the company website but it is also now available for wholesale customers.
