Nicotine addiction is one of the major challenges smokers face when trying to quit smoking. September 30, 2012
"Considering the extreme hazards associated with cigarette smoking, currently available data suggest that electronic cigarettes are far less harmful and substituting tobacco with electronic cigarettes may be beneficial to health,” said Dr Konstantinos Farsalinos of the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center in Athens.
As it stands, there is hardly any contest that tobacco cigarettes are harmful to one’s health. True, their manufacturing companies may continue to claim otherwise, stepping hard on the pedal for their lobbyists to convince people otherwise. However, the general perception of the public is that these tobacco cigarettes do result to some nasty side-effects to one’s over-all health, both in the short and long run.
This is why e cigarettes have become such a hit in the past few years, ever since it launched in the market. Consumers are aware of the risks of tobacco smoking, and now they want an alternative – a healthier alternative that would help them quit the habit.
See, smokers are addicted to smoking for various reasons. For most people, it’s the nicotine that’s gotten them hooked. For others, it’s the psychological satisfaction of the act of lighting a cigarette and dragging a puff. These are all real considerations for any smoker who would like to officially take the habit out of their lives. These are what e cigs guaranteed to provide.
These electric cigarettes take on the form of an electronic gadget, rechargeable with batteries...The smoke emitted is not smoke but water vapors – odorless, colorless, smokeless vapor. Hence, the gadget is also sometimes known as “smokeless cigarettes”.
They function like tobacco cigarettes; only, they are not made up of the harmful stuff that tobacco cigarettes are. Although they are considered to be generally harmless, these vapor cigarettes are still not getting a very warm welcome from other groups, saying that they also do have some harmful effects on the user.
Studies, of course, have been conducted left and right to prove otherwise. Following the simple logic, however, that these electronic cigarettes do not contain the ingredients found in tobacco, it goes to show that it definitely takes out the harmful toxins out of the equation. Even Dr Russell Luepker of the University of Minnesota arrives at the same conclusion: "Obviously, the e cigarette has the advantage of not having the thousands of other chemicals, besides nicotine, that a real cigarette has.”
Essentially, therefore, these electronic cigarettes can be a good way to start a healthier habit for smokers. To read electronic cigarette reviews and other information about e cigarettes, as well as links to some of the most popular manufacturers, visit http://electroniccigarettehub.org
