Americans just celebrated Memorial Day, day of remembrance of those who died while serving in Armed Forces. President Obama and Republican Mitt Romney compete for veterans' vote. USA Today published results of a new Gallup Poll that gives Romney a big election edge over Obama among veterans. Romney leads Obama 58% to 34% among veterans, who make up about 13% of the electorate, Gallup reports. Among non-veterans, Obama leads Romney by four points. Boston Herald reports that Hispanic voters are a crucial constituency in the presidential election and that both campaigns are targeting young Hispanics. There are more than 21 million eligible Hispanic voters and more than 30 percent of them are 18 to 30 years old. But Hispanic voters under 30 have the lowest turnout of any group: Only 41 percent of them voted in 2008, says Boston Herald.
