Bangladesh has revived its plan to bridge the Ganges

Bangladesh is hoping the World Bank will finance its ambitious plan to build a bridge across the Ganges, the biggest infrastructure project in the country's history. The government believes the bridge, which is designed to carry four lanes of traffic and a rail line, will boost the economy by linking the undeveloped south with the capital Dhaka. The World Bank cancelled its agreement to issue a loan for the project in June, but as the BBC's Anbarasan Ethirajan reports, the institution could revive its financing if the government addresses concerns about corruption.
