Reigning league MVP RR Garcia exploded in the second half with 17 of his game-high 21 points to help the Tamaraws notch their first win of the season. After trailing early in the second quarter, 28-31, FEU embarked on a 9-0 run to grab the lead, sustaining it for the rest of the game. The Green Archers last threatened in the final minute with an LA Revilla basket to cut the deficit to just four, 66-62. But Aldrech Ramos and Garcia responded with a well executed high-low play that sealed the win for the Tamaraws. Ramos chipped in 16 points and eight boards while JR Cawaling finished with 10 markers for the Morayta-based cagers. The comebacking Revilla was the lone Archer in double figures with 18 points.
