Call Issued for Nation-Wide Protests at Local Obama Campaign Offices to Demand that the Administration take effective steps to stop Iran’s Nuclear Program. September 19, 2012

A grassroots group has announced the organizing of “Never Again Day,” a call for protests at Obama campaign offices around the country on Thursday, September 27th at noon to demand that the President 1) set “red lines,” 2) end sanctions exemptions for Iran’s trading partners and 3) take effective steps to guaranty that Iran does not develop nuclear weapons capabilities. “Never Again Day is intended to bring national attention to the threat that America and our ally Israel face from the Iranian nuclear weapons program. While President Obama expresses his commitment to stopping Iran and keeping all options on the table, the actions taken by the Administration so far have not had any deterrent effect. The sanctions that have been put in place are not working, primarily because they are filled with exemptions and are not being complimented by a credible military threat. The truth is that there is much more that President Obama can be doing,” said Alvin Talena, one of the campaign’s organizers.

“Never Again Day is not about politics. It’s about protecting America and Israel from the nightmare situation that would arise should Iran obtain nuclear weapons capability. A unique situation exists at the moment, where people have access to the President’s attention right in their own community. They can use Obama's campaign offices as a local White House. Americans need to take advantage of that and demand that he meet the Iranian threat with effective deterrence. Our hope is that President Obama will get the message and take immediate action,” concluded Talena.
