THOUSANDS of Russians took to the streets yesterday in the biggest protest for years against Prime Minister Vladimir Putin as the Kremlin faced a storm of international criticism over vote rigging in the parliamentary election.Up to 10000 people chanting "Russia without Putin" gathered in central Moscow and hundreds were led away by riot police as they tried to march towards the Central Election Commission to protest the results.
