The San Francisco Giants wins the first game of their three-game series over the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field on Friday Night by a score of 6-2. Giants outfielder Hunter Pence went 2 for 3 at the plate with a grand slam and four RBIs while Pablo Sandoval snapped out of his slump by going 3 for 4 at the plate. With the win the Giants improves their record to (82-62) and a season high 20 games over .500 and their lead is at 7.5 games and the Giants magic number to win the NL West is down to 11 any combination of Giants wins and or/Dodger losses will give the Giants the National Leage title .
