Cartoonist Aseem Trivedi released from jail - NewsX
Jailed cartoonist Aseem Trivedi walked out of Arthur Road prison here on Wednesday afternoon. Speaking to media outside the jail, Trivedi said he was overwhelmed by the support he had received from all quarters. "Although I'm free, the battle will continue. Whenever there is an infringement of legal rights, our fight will continue," Aseem Trivedi told reporters outside the jail. On Tuesday, the Bombay high court had granted bail to Trivedi on a bond of Rs 5000. Trivedi was arrested last Saturday and sent to police custody for seven days. He was charged with sedition for drawing cartoons insulting the Indian emblem, including the Constitution, during Anna Hazare's anti-corruption movement in Mumbai in December 2011.
