Batory de Mexico, the 170,000-square-foot, Matamoros-based manufacturing plant of Batory Foods, has achieved certification in BRC's Global Standard for Food Safety. This certification is the first stage of Batory Foods’ initiative to achieve BRC Global Standards’ certification in all of its manufacturing and warehouse facilities by 2016.
This long-term corporate program sends a clear message about Batory's steadfast commitment to distributing the safest, highest-quality food and fine ingredients. A major part of this certification, of course, focuses on the food and fine ingredients themselves,” says Lorena Carrillo, Quality Assurance Manager, Batory de Mexico. “But the personnel dimension is just as important. Across every department at the Mexico plant, our employees are now trained in techniques for the proactive management of food safety issues. Founded in 1979, Batory Foods is a leading national ingredients distributor, offering manufacturers the industry's largest portfolio of high-quality food and fine ingredients. With sales professionals covering every major market across the U.S., the family owned and operated business "thinks national" and "acts local," serving national, regional and local manufacturers with an abiding commitment to excellent customer service. Batory Foods' network of distribution centers services more than 6,000 customers, spanning the full food industry spectrum. (http://www.batoryfoods.com)
