Police arrest at Pussy Riot demonstration at Russia Embassy Reykjavik, Iceland the 11 July 2012. Pussy Riot is a Russian, feminist, punk-rock collective that stages politically provocative impromptu performances in Moscow, on subjects such as the status of women in Russia, and most recently against the election campaign of Prime Minister Putin for president of Russia. On 4 July, the trio were given a 2800 page indictment and told their defense must be ready by 9 July, giving only two working days to study the document. They announced a hunger strike in response, saying that the time was inadequate.
