Recent research into the effects of exercise on reducing chronic nerve pain has shown that a reduction in pain levels may be as simple as staying in motion during the day. TrekDesk Treadmill Desk was designed with this specific purpose in mind.

Research published recently in Anesthesia & Analgesia (http://www.anesthesia-analgesia.org/) showed theat exercise assists in alleviating neuropathic pain (pain related to nerve damage) by reducing levels of specific inflammation promoting substances within the body known as cytokines.

Lead researcher, Dr. Yu-Wen Chen of the China Medical University in Taiwan examined the effects of exercise on neuropathic pain by inducing sciatic nerve injuries into rats. They found that exercise reduced abnormal responses to pressure and temperature, both normally associated with neuropathic pain. They also found that exercise reduced the levels of cytokines in the sciatic nerve tissue consistent with previous studies that showed an direct relationship between cytokine levels and nerve pain.

Pain reductions were measured to be 30% to 50% less when exercise was administered over a period of weeks. These results were seen as a positive indicator that exercise may be a significant therapy for neuropathic pain as opposed to drugs

“I know from personal experience that walking reduces sciatic nerve pain significantly, that is what ultimately led to the invention of the TrekDesk,” stated Steve Bordley, CEO of TrekDesk. “These studies add to an existing array of evidence that proves the body has mechanisms to deal with a tremendous variety of ailments as long as we stay in motion during the day.”

Designed to fit any existing treadmill, TrekDesk treadmill desk is an affordable, full sized, height adjustable workstation that allows individuals the opportunity to gain the necessary amount of exercise daily to maintain health, prevent disease, strengthen muscles, boost mood and productivity, without requiring additional time during the day or extra motivation...TrekDesk offers the solution.
