The new 25,000 sq. ft. datacenter space boasts 24” raised-floor cooling, 4MW of generator- and UPS-backed power and fully meshed and redundant network architecture. September 11, 2012
Digital Fortress, Inc. (http://www.dfcolo.com) announced today the deployment of their new downtown colocation facility in Seattle, WA. The new 25,000 sq. ft. datacenter space boasts 24” raised-floor cooling, 4MW of generator- and UPS-backed power and fully meshed and redundant network architecture. The space was acquired in March of this year and has been fully renovated to support high-density, high-availability installations.
Located in the heart of Seattle’s Lower Queen Anne district, the facility is centrally served by a dedicated Seattle City Light power feed. Enterprise colocation customers are attracted to the Pacific Northwest market because of its low-cost, renewable energy, and SCL derives 95% of its delivered power from renewable sources. Digital Fortress doubles-down on their green initiative by taking advantage of the area’s temperate climate; they cool the datacenter using filtered outdoor air for 70% of the year, further keeping costs under control for their clients.
In addition to high-density space and low-cost power and cooling, Digital Fortress offers highly customizable, redundant 10Gbps+ bandwidth and cross connects to a large assemblage of providers. They have built out a fault-tolerant dark fiber ring that connects the facility to both their main facility in South Seattle and the Westin building, securing inexpensive, redundant connections to almost every provider in the area. Digital Fortress is a carrier-neutral colocation service provider and is licensed as a fully Autonomous System
Digital Fortress has differentiated itself in the market by owning and managing all of its critical infrastructure components, ensuring that all aspects of its datacenter are operated at the high standard necessary to meet uptime requirements. The datacenter is supported by a dedicated technical staff on-site 24x7x365. Expert remote hands and other value-added services compliment Digital Fortress’ core colocation services.
The new downtown facility is ready for immediate occupancy, offering space for single- and multiple-rack clients, as well as custom cages and private suites.
