While the economic crisis keeps hurting the Italians badly the Prime Minister Mario Monti has recently stated that a year ago the economic crisis was worse than it is today and the time is close when the crisis will come to an end. Monti's optimistic view has been shared by Industry Minister Corrado Passera who has said the government is expecting the country to emerge from recession next year thanks to its stimulus measures. However Passera himself had previously stated that no stimulus package is currently in the agenda for the next cabinet meeting to be held on Friday. The trade unions said on Tuesday that the optimism displayed by the government is totally inconsiderate. Monti's cabinet seems to be unaware of the real -- desperate - situation of an increasing number of Italian families the Unions warned.
