Mercedes-Benz E300 Hybrid

The Mercedes-Benz E300 BlueTEC hybrid has earned an environmental certificate from a prominent testing organization. The E300 will produce 23 percent less CO2 over a 150,000-mile life span. The car is 95 percent recyclable and carries nearly 100 pounds of recycled materials in its gross weight when new. A 56-mpg rating and a top speed of 150 mph makes the E300, according to official Mercedes-Benz literature, “the most economical luxury sedan in the world.” For the complete story, see:

Peugeot Hybrids at Moscow Show

Peugeot is highlighting its 3008 Hybrid4 and 508 RXH at the Moscow Motor Show this week. The company operates a manufacturing plant just outside of Moscow, in the suburban city of Kaluga, where it builds its 408 model, also prominently displayed at the event. The Hybrid4 features automatic, sport, 4WD, and zero emission driving modes, while the Peugeot concept hybrid XH1 is a plug-in. Cadillac ELR Plug-In, Escalade Hybrid

Officials at Cadillac announced this week that the luxury automaker would bring the next-generation Escalade to market by late 2013. The lightweight ATS compact and the ELR plug-in hybrid are also soon to arrive. The new Escalade, which will be in showrooms by late next year, features an eight-speed transmission and improved mileage. For the complete story, see:
