Barcode Software Package Introduces Standards-compliant Barcodes for Windows Store Apps and Windows 8

ConnectCode, a leading provider of barcode software and fonts, today announced the release of a new version of barcode software package that allows standards-compliant barcodes to be created on Windows Store apps and Windows 8 Operating System using fonts.

Printing barcodes using fonts is well-known (in the industry) for creating the highest quality barcodes. Fonts, besides being ubiquitous, enable deployment to a wide variety of platforms, raster to the resolution of printer when printed, and are not limited to the Dots per Inch (DPI) of devices’ screens.

In Windows Store app, fonts can be easily embedded as local resources. EXT2/EXT5 Barcode

A Software Development Kit (SDK) for Windows 8 is provided to ease the task of generating check digits, adding barcode start/stop characters, verifying inputs, and encoding of barcode characters...Samples based on the Visual Studio Split App template are also provided to help developers get started on the implementation.

This new version of the barcode software package also provides Dynamic Link Libraries for .Net 2.0 to .Net 4.5 frameworks in both 32-bit and 64-bit environments. Barcodes can also be generated in enterprise applications such as Microsoft SQL Server (Reporting Services) and Crystal Reports. The Barcode Fonts Encoder, formulas for Microsoft Office and Barcode Image Generator are also updated and tested with Windows 8 and the latest Microsoft Office preview. This is to ensure that the generated barcodes will meet the strictest requirements set by the industry in the upcoming Windows 8 OS. New localized barcode fonts to support non-Unicode compliant applications running on country-specific code pages are also included in this version.
