Emboldened by their conviction that the web lacks a true real-world bookmarking app, Grafetee launched new tools for businesses to reach consumers. UK) 24 August 2012
Location-based apps have changed the way people interact on-the-go. They also provided businesses with more tools and flexibility to reach out to customers, allowing them to share real-time impressions, reviews, and tips...Grafetee allows users to create destination guides by bookmarking real world places and events from the web to a smartphone, through location-based public data, including third party data sources like Foursquare, Yelp and Wikipedia, as well as user-created public feeds and private feeds. Any place online that works with the Open Graph Protocol, will work with Grafetee.
Grafetee gives businesses the ability to extend their reach from websites directly to consumers. Businesses can add Grafetee bookmark buttons to any events or places on a website, to allow visitors to save these on their apps for easy-access on-the-go. And with the new bookmarklet, users can add any location on their Grafetee app, with just a tap.
The new Grafetee bookmarklet recognizes addresses and content on any websites like Trip Advisor, Booking.com, Hotels.com, Expedia, Airbnb, Trulia, Zillow and a many others. Users can save any venue from such websites on their phones, for later reference...In case of events, like sales, special promotions, exhibition openings and so on, Grafetee app will alert users in time, ensuring that businesses don't miss valuable opportunities.
Juha Huttunen, Grafetee CEO, explains just how these features benefit both businesses and users:
"Now Grafetee works as any location-based app should. It automatically detects addresses on many sites enabling users to easily store a location and related info to their phones with just two taps." Then, he follows with a concrete example:
"Say you booked a hotel on one site and found interesting sights on other sites...Using Grafetee and our bookmarklet you just click to store each location and related info to your phone and share it with the people traveling with you. Grafetee will automatically guide you back to your hotel, to the sights you want to see, the restaurant you want to eat in, and so on."
What's even better is that Grafetee is not restricted to travel. Any site with a physical address can be added and stored, for any purpose. Grafetee's applications are countless, from real estate, to car repair shops and beyond. The app is so flexible, that is already being used by the National Police of Finland as a public safety tool. And Springwise author John Green believes that it will even encourage citizen journalism.
A smart technology application from Finland, Grafetee (http://www.grafetee.com) is a startup focused on people using “world-marking” (location based bookmarking) about their geo-location, need, and interest. The company, founded by entrepreneurs and web technology veterans Juha Huttunen, Arttu Ylärakkola and Kalle Lundahn, utilizes proprietary technologies in connection with already popular mobile and web technologies (Foursquare & Wikipedia for now) for the user. Established early in 2012, Grafetee is currently in beta testing mode. Grafetee app supports all iPhones, iPods and iPads with iOS 4.0. There is also an app for Android devices.
