Furthermore, South Africa’s Eskom have spent $250 million on safety upgrades and improving spent fuel pool instrumentation at the Koeberg Nuclear Power Station, while Brazil’s Eletronuclear is looking to spend $200 million on stress tests and modification work at the Angra Nuclear Power Station. Both utilities will be presenting on the very latest technical work they are executing.

In addition to this, Westinghouse and Areva, two of the world’s largest nuclear energy companies, will provide expert knowledge on: filtered containment venting systems and containment pressure relief in Europe; a comprehensive set of severe accident management guidelines; filtration methods in Canada, China and Korea; as well as the filtration technologies used and why.

If companies are looking to learn more from the international safety upgrade work already in progress as well as hear from the key U.S. nuclear energy utilities implementing $multi-billion enhancements then this is the only meeting in 2012 that combines both aspects.
