Abroad101, the world’s first and largest study abroad review website, has introduced a new set of resources for scholarship and teach abroad opportunities. This powerful combination allows Abroad101 to expand into the teach abroad market and enhance college students’ access to affordable study abroad programs...A comprehensive scholarship directory, blog posts and advice articles can also be found on the website. The new teach abroad page contains scholarships, listings of popular countries, programs and advice for teaching abroad.
BridgeAbroad, a leading teach abroad organization, is Abroad101’s primary sponsor for the teach abroad endeavor. Lisa Rooney, Vice President of Teacher Training and Education Abroad at BridgeAbroad says, “More and more university students are seeing the value in participating in a teach abroad program. There are jobs available in almost every country, and levels can range from Pre-K to adult. Given the weak job market in the U.S., the abundance of positions teaching English abroad is very attractive. It’s also a great way for students who never studied abroad as an undergraduate to finally immerse themselves in a new culture and way of life!”
Michael Stone, President and Co-Founder of Abroad101, is excited to have more scholarships and information available to those who want to go abroad. “We recently had the opportunity to personally deliver the good news to our deserving scholarship recipients. The joy on their faces when they heard they would be going abroad was exhilarating. Increasing these opportunities for students and adults will enhance their global citizenship while having a significant impact on the study abroad field and the continued growth of our company.”
Since Abroad101 began partnering with providers to give away scholarships last year, they have provided over $54,000 to deserving students. These increased resources will allow more students and post-graduates to take advantage of going abroad, no matter the cost. Academy’s scholarship is currently accepting American or Canadian fluent English speaker applicants 18 and older and will close on Wednesday, August 15th. Interested applicants can learn more about the scholarship here.
