Five hundred Denver-area children will receive backpacks stuffed with school supplies this weekend courtesy of The Potter’s House, Frazier Global Strategies and Jones International University® (JIU®) . The three organizations partnered to fund the 2012 Backpack Drive to provide school supplies to pre-kindergarten through high school aged children in the Denver area. Backpacks will be distributed to families who signed up to receive the packs on Sunday, July 29 at The Potter’s House following the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services.
Families were able to sign up to receive a backpack at a 4th of July “Red, White and You” Festival hosted by the Potters House. Open to the Denver community, the July 4th Festival featured rides, games and a sign-up booth where families were able to reserve one of the 500 free backpacks. With over 2000 people in attendance at the July 4th celebration, all 500 backpacks were reserved at the festival. Over 150 volunteers from The Potters House helped assemble school supplies and stuff backpacks donated in part by Frazier Global Strategies and Jones International University to be distributed to children and families this weekend.
"This partnership demonstrates a commitment to ensuring our kids have the supplies they need to get the right start to their school year. Now, parents, teachers, and the students themselves must do their part!" stated Ryan Frazier, Managing Director of Frazier Global Strategies.
