Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson insists his team will not be taking the first match of their pre-season tour to South Africa lightly ahead of their meeting with AmaZulu here...
Hundreds of South African fans greeted Manchester United as they arrived in Durban for a pre-season tour ahead of the Premier League season. Dressed in their team's colours, fans were in buoyant mood ahead of Wednesday's game with AmaZulu FC. Sir Alex Ferguson's side were beaten to the title last season by fierce local rivals Manchester City. But they have since improved their squad with the signing of Japanese midfielder Shinji Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund. United have shown their intent ahead of Wednesday's fixture with a squad which features Rio Ferdinand and Javier Hernandez. After that game, the Red Devils travel to Cape Town to play Ajax Cape Town on Saturday, before flying to China to play Didier Drogba's new side Shanghai Shenhua.
