Freelance writer Emilia Fuentes Grant speaks at the Honoring Women's Rights conference in Salinas, CA on Sept. 8. She details how she turned Lady GaGa's 2009 hit Bad Romance into a history lesson about the National Woman’s Party. It's the latest educational music video parody from Soomo Publishing.

Grant's version overlays GaGa's ferocious club thumper beat with images of the National Woman’s Party's radical activism in the fight for the 19th Amendment. Of her talk at the Honoring Women's Rights conference, Grant said, "I’ll share my experience in writing the parody lyrics and video, and discuss Soomo Publishing’s innovative educational philosophy which facilitated this unique and impactful project."

Freelance writer Emilia Fuentes Grant lives in Charlotte, North Carolina. She writes educational content for Soomo Publishing and is the screenwriter and lyricist behind Bad Romance: Women’s Suffrage (2012) and Too Late to Apologize: A Declaration (2009).
