The online retailer of power tools and hand tools, Toolbox, has launched an enormous range of Beta branded products on its website. UK) 28 June 2012

Beta Utensili, an Italian company founded in 1939, is a specialist manufacturer of hand tools. With production plants in Sovico, Castiglione d’Adda and Sulmona, they distribute tools around the world. With an ethos based around continual research, development and quality, Beta tools are famed for their accuracy, style, innovation and high quality and the company maintains strong ties with the automotive and motorsport industries.

Toolbox has added the full range of Beta products to its website, all 12,000, taking the total number of products on the website to a whopping 65,000. Included in the range is everything from hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers and pliers to workwear and tool storage solutions.

Lee Taylor, General Manager at Toolbox, said: “We’re over the moon to be able to offer the full Beta range of products on the toolbox website. I’ve been a big fan of their tools for some time and this range really lives up to their high standards. There is everything you could want here; vehicle repair tools, socketry sets, electrical tools and much more. Whether it’s single tools or large sets, for DIY or trade, there’s something in this Beta range for everyone.”

The upload of 12,000 products was obviously a big job and it fell to the Toolbox Marketing team, with a little help from the IT specialists. Scott Morris, Marketing Manager, said: “The IT boys helped us out with this one, using all the product data we had they were able to create the products for us all at once, saving us doing it one at a time. From that point it was just a case of us tidying up and making sure all the products were grouped correctly and looked great.”

The Toolbox team are aiming to make the Beta tool range easy to find and navigate on their website and it looks like they’ve done a good job, with the tools grouped both in the existing taxonomy and within its own standalone taxonomy.

Tim Hodge, Website Administrator, commented: “Again, the IT boys helped us out with the taxonomy before we tweaked and polished it. Now we think it looks great and it should be effortless for customers to find what they want. The products look fantastic and the range is so comprehensive it’s bound to sell well.”

All the Beta products are now live on the Toolbox website, ready for customers to browse and buy. currently operates on the new, rebranded and ever-expanding Online Home Retail Network which currently runs around 50 websites which sell everything from Victorinox swiss army knives and Stanley tools to stainless steel kitchen sinks and bathroom mirrors. Online Home Retail Limited first started out as Plumbworld Ltd back in 1999 and since then it has been bought by the Grafton Group PLC in 2006 and received a major rebrand in 2012. The business now employs 60 people in its purpose built warehouse/offices and has a total turnover nearing £25 million per year.
