As the NHL Stanley Cup Finals (#stanleycup) wrapped up last night, it seems that many social media fans knew the Los Angeles Kings (#lakings) would win all along. A total of 187,508 real time predictions, made by users of the official predictive game of the NHL (#NHL), were tracked throughout the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs and Finals, starting mid-May 2012. The mobile app, developed by startup game studio PrePlay (http://preplaysports.com/), tracked which teams users thought would win the Conference and Stanley Cup Finals, as well as which key players were going to score in the third period and overtime.
