The Beat Obama Committee (a regularly constituted organization registered with the Federal Elections Commission and provided by said Commission the identifying number of C00496729) is launching a fax campaign to Arizona state officials this week, encouraging them to uphold the rule of law. According to the Arizona Daily Star report from May 23, 2012, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has sent investigators to Hawaii to determine whether Barack Obama's birth certificate is a forgery.

“This will finally put the whole birth certificate issue to rest,” said Randy Goodwin, Treasurer of the Beat Obama Committee. “Since no one has seen an actual physical copy of Barack Obama’s birth certificate, we’re hoping this will settle the whole controversy.”

According to a Washington Times report on May 24, 2012, Sheriff Arpaio’s investigation has concluded that the image of Barack Obama’s birth certificate, released in 2011, might not be an authentic document. Sheriff Arpaio stated on a live March 1, 2012 webcast that his investigative team has found probable cause that the image is a forgery.
