General Managers from JHM Hotels all over the US gathered in Greenville for three days of training, inspiration, and service at the 2012 GM Conference. This year, in lieu of a social outing, the General Managers spent an afternoon participating in three community service projects.
JHM Hotels recently began a new initiative to focus its giving and volunteerism in the community called ONE—Outreach, Nurture, Encourage. The company’s philosophy of giving is 1-1-1, where they strive to give back 1% of their profit, 1% of their product, and 1% of their manpower annually to impact education and poverty. The new ONE concept was rolled out at the GM conference, and associates put the philosophy into action, serving Greenville with enthusiasm and energy!
The first group made and delivered over 500 toiletry kits for Greenville’s Salvation Army shelter residents. The second group took students from an afterschool program, YouthBase, on a field trip to the Greenville Zoo. The third group went to Gideon’s House, a Homes of Hope project, and worked on painting and removing wallpaper to get the house move-in ready. In each case, the associates were pleased to have the opportunity to give back to the community and show how much they care. With over 60 participants working, JHM certainly made an impact on education and poverty!
