Parker Waichman LLP, a national law firm representing people injured by defective drugs, has filed several new lawsuits on behalf of individuals allegedly injured by life-threatening Plavix bleeding side effects. Three complaints filed on May 3, 2012, in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of New York, allege use of Plavix caused Plaintiffs to suffer serious gastrointestinal bleeds (Index Nos. Parker Waichman LLP filed an additional six Plavix bleeding lawsuits on April 30, 2012, also in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of New York. Those complaints allege use of Plavix caused Plaintiffs to suffer from a number of bleeding side effects, including gastrointestinal hemorrhage, cerebral hemorrhage and a blood condition called thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP). (Index Nos. Plavix, a blood thinner known generically as clopidogrel, was first approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1997 for the prevention of heart attack and stroke. According to the Plavix lawsuits filed by Parker Waichman LLP, the Defendants falsely touted the drug as being more effective and safer in reducing the risk of ischemic events compared to a less expensive daily aspirin regimen...The lawsuits further charge that the Defendants concealed their knowledge of Plavix defects from the Plaintiffs, the FDA, the public in general and/or the medical community specifically.
