Economic slowdown takes its toll on people's sense of wellbeing THE wellbeing of Australians has taken a hit due to the slowing economy and the rising cost of living. Preliminary results from the Australian Unity Wellbeing Index show a 1% fall in wellbeing since November 2007 and, for the first time since research began seven years ago, men's sense of wellbeing is higher than women's.
