Sonetics, a leader in innovative team communication solutions for challenging environments, will introduce its Triton Series wireless communication systems at the Pacific Marine Expo in Seattle, Wa., Nov. 17-19. The Triton systems are designed to meet crew communication requirements for rugged use on deck or in high-noise marine settings, including tug and cargo operations, emergency response, workboat operations, and wharf and quay operations, as well as shipboard deck and engineering departments. Triton systems support hands-free full-duplex crew communications up to a 1600 ft. range while also monitoring up to two radio channels and providing PTT radio transmission from the users’ wireless headsets. Triton communication headsets provide 24dB of hearing protection and are completely wire-free, with no external antennas, belt pack, or wires to snag or entangle users.
The new solutions include next-generation Triton wireless communication headsets that leverage Sonetics’ extensive experience in providing marine law enforcement and marine fire and rescue crews with reliable wireless communication systems. Sonetics supports Triton products with a two-year standard warranty and up to five years of ComCare™ comprehensive customer service programs.
“We developed Triton systems as a natural extension of our proven fire and rescue communication systems,” said Reed Stager, chief operating officer. “Our marine customers find that dependable hands-free work crew and radio communication, sometimes across long distances, can significantly improve effectiveness and safety for both small and large crews in windy or noisy environments.“
“The wireless headsets have made communication among the boat crew much more effective,” said Steve Troutman, Clackamas County Sheriff Marine Unit. “Previously, the boat operator and crewman were limited when performing rescues or other operations because the crewman would have to remove his headset to move around the boat. Now we can talk over the boat and water noise and I can even drop the crewman off on the shore and still talk to him like he was sitting next to me. We have tested the range of the wireless headsets and have been very impressed. This has made us a much safer and more effective team.”
Triton solutions can be installed in fixed locations, water craft, or other equipment. All systems include hands-free full-duplex 1.9GHz wireless headsets with range up to 1600 feet and 24db of hearing protection for personal safety. Systems can also be configured to support extended communication via standard marine or portable radios. Completely battery-powered portable systems are also available. New Sonetics Triton wireless headsets include 24-hour batteries with quick recharge times to ensure they are ready to perform when needed. Triton headsets are also IP65 dust and water resistant when worn and are designed to withstand harsh marine environments.
