Five hundred bags of flour, five rifles along with magazines and five non-custom paid Flying coaches were seized on Arkhanda Check post in Kam Shelman early in the morning here on Sunday by Khasadars. The 13 alleged flour smugglers were arrested by Khasadar Force while the armed smugglers wearing masks were carrying five hundred bags of flour by force through Arkhanda check post, told an official of Khasadars. Large contingent of Khasadars was dispatched there by Assistant Political Agent (APA) to apprehend the armed smugglers and put them in jail. Khasadars detained the 13 flour smugglers who had come to Kam Shelman to cross the border at Ghakhi check post via Malagori of Jamrud Tehsil, told an official of Khasadars. All of them hailing from Jamrud are in jail, told an official. APA Landikotal had reportedly instructed the Khasadars officials not to allow the journalists to meet the flour smugglers in jail, told a source. Every official of Khasadars was afraid to be credited for arresting the smugglers, as they had reportedly received threats from the smugglers, told another source of Khasadars.
Meanwhile Aurang Khan while talking to media persons in Landikotal press club told that large scale of flour smuggling via Takhta bag, Begyari, Michni and Torkham was on the rise. Khasadars officials and political administration are both involved in flour smuggling to make money, alleged Aurang Khan Afridi. He regretted that the tribesmen could not bring a single flour bag of 20 kg for his home, while the smugglers are allowed to carry trucks full of flour bags to Afghanistan. He requested the higher authorities to take a notice of this unfairness on the main road, for giving relief to the local people. When an official of administration was contacted at Jamrud, he refuted and negated the allegations by saying that the administration was daily seizing hundred bags of flour which are distributed on subsidized and official rates among the local tribal people. The official said that nobody would be allowed to smuggle flour to Afghanistan.
