Sports complex will be built in LandiKotal to facilitate the tribal players, said Sports Director FATA Faisal Jamil Shah here on Sunday as a chief guest at the final match between young Christians and Shams during the Shinwari sports festival at army camp Landikotal.The Shinwari sports festival is arranged annually at Landikotal to encourage young players of different games as a part of healthy activities over here. This festival is arranged as a mark of Independence Day.Mirathan race,Jodo Karate, long jumps, tug of rope, shooting and football are the main games in this sports festival.Diector Sports FATA Faisal Jamil Shah told media men that government was serious to increase sports activities in the whole of FATA as a part of healthy activities. He was certain of talent in the tribal players in FATA, but regretted that in the past proper attention had not be given to encourage tribal players. Sport Director FATA told that in every agency headquarter, sports complex had already been built and added that now at tehsil level sports complex would be constructed with a priority at Landikotal.He also said that a hostel for FATA players would soon be built at Jamrud to facilitate them. Female tribal players would also be encouraged to take part in the healthy sports activities. Director FATA Sports told that some twelve tribal players were being given stipend monthly from five thousand to twelve thousand to encourage them and make them solve their basic problems. He particularly mentioned a female tribal player Maria Toor Pekey that she was fully helped from government side as she has always showed good performance from FATA. He assured that all basic problems of tribal players would be solved with consultations of the higher authorities in this regard. He said that next year in the Shinwari sports Festival, players from the whole FATA and NWFP would take part to make it a bigger event in FATA.He was optimistic that sportsmen in FATA were not facing any problems or threats from radicals or militants as he said that sports was a part of the life of the holy Prophet (PBUH).He said that he had sponsored this tournament by giving them trophies and track suits for the players.Faisal Jamil Shah promised to do more for the tribal players in future to attract the tribal youths to take part in positive and healthy activities which can detract them from social evils. He praised the talent and good performance of the tribal sportsmen in Landikotal.
