- This is a sad story of a run-away school board that has "gone mad." The suspension of veteran english teacher Connie Heermann follows two years of controversy from the Perry Township School Board who, against massive public outcry, eventually dismissed Dr. Doug Williams, a long-time, widely-respected school Superintendent -- also for "insubordination." The uncontrolled personal antics by the Board are prompting some state lawmakers to look at ways to provide oversight to school boards in Indiana that essentially have no built-in "checks and balances." Thank for seeing this story and posting it.
