In California's Mojave Desert, British business tycoon Richard Branson has unveiled Virgin Galactica's first space tourism jet that will soon launch high-paying tourists into sub-orbit. The jet unveiled today will act as the base for a spacecraft to be released in mid-air set to transport two crew and six passengers on sub-orbital flights.
Virgin Galactica reports that more than 250 people have already paid the $200,000 fee to make the voyage. The first voyage will reportedly take place in 18 months, after undergoing rigorous flight testing.
