Arizona Senator, John McCain (R), arrived in San Francisco today to attend a $1000 per person fund raising dinner as he continues his bid for President of the United States reprsenting the Republican party. Hundreds of well-wishers and supporters of McCain flocked to the streets near the city's famed Fairmont Hotel, which served as the location for the extravaganza.
However, not everyone outside the hotel was present to welcome the 72 year old, Vietnam War Veteran and former Prisoner of War (POW). Opponents of the ongoing conflict in Iraq protested McCain's visit largely in part because of the Senator's loyal backing of the current White House Administration's decision to enter Iraq and prevent Saddam Hussein's government. Iraq was believed to have been manufacturing Weapons of Mass Destruction (WoMD), along with faulty intelligence suggesting ties between Hussein and the terrorist group, Al Qaeda. The current President, George W. Bush, has endorsed Senator McCain and no doubt appreciates his unrelentess support for the war on terror.
