Last August 6, paper lanterns were seen floating along the Motoyasu River. The lanterns were in remembrance to the Hiroshima Bombings which has recently reached its 66th Anniversary.
The lanterns illuminated the Atomic Bomb Dome near the Hiroshima Peace Memorial park in Hiroshima, western Japan. As the country remembers their past atomic disaster, they are also facing a new one – a possible nuclear meltdown in one of their nuclear power plants which was damaged by a tsunami.
