On Friday 29th July, 2011 Leeward Islands Air Transport (LIAT) 1974 ltd closed its city offices across the Caribbean region. customers who're planning to use the service could do so by booking online, via telephone or at the counters at the airport.
Meanwhile, LIAT, the bargain agents and Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer of Antigua and Barbuda have managed yesterday to come to an agreement with workers at the Maurice Bishop International Airport in Grenada. The Grenadian workers were into their second week of protest, for the EC$6 million that, LIAT owes them dating back to 1983. Air traffic into out off Grenada has been severely affected, thus as the country celebrates Carnival a EC$ 500 000 settlement was reached for the time being.
