The News Video

Just this week, a Filipino by the name of Christopher Lao became famous or should I say infamous because he attempted to drive through a flooded road. There was only one problem, he was driving a family sedan. So, his car stopped and floated along the flooded street.

Despite the problem, that was not the main thing that really got him noticed. It was after when a GMA news team interviewed him and asked why he pushed through? His answer was the blame game. He blamed everyone on site for not stopping him. He blamed traffic enforcers and the MMDA for not blocking the road. He said that no one informed him that road was not passable. All this was captured and aired later that night.

Now, Lao has a tag name. He is called “ang bobong sinugod ang kotse sa baha” or the fool who drove his car into the flood. People ridiculed Lao. Some even defended him while others just commented that he had no one to blame but himself. Lao became one of the top trending items on Yahoo, Facebook and Twitter. He even surpassed Kiko Pimentel and Sen. Bing Zubiri.

Check out the video from GMA 7's 24 Oras. It shows how Lao and his car floated.
