Nearly 3000 soldiers will be on duty to take care of the security matters when the trail of former Egyptian president Mr. Hosni Mubarak begins in Cairo today.
Mr. Hosni Mubarak will be prosecuted for the charges of ordering the killing of protesters nad involvement in corruptio. His two sons Alaa and Gemal are also facing similar charges. Joining them as co-accused will be his exInterior Ministeral-Adly and six former other officials.
The defendants will be sitting in a specially prepared cage at the Police Academy where this trail is being held. Initially the trail was scheduled to be held at the City's main convention center. However, owing to security reasons the venue of the trail has been shifted to Police Academy.
Mr Mubarak, 83, is indisposed these days and is admitted to a hospital at the sea resort Sharam al Sheikh. He will be brought to Cairo in an helicopter.
If convicted of the crimes the accused face death penalty.
