Due to severe drought, the OC Reservoir in San Angelo has almost dried up, leaving crimson red stagnant water remaining.
San Angelo State Park situated in the west of Texas has this lake which was a home for fish like catfish, sunfish and bass till last year. Now however, the worst hot weather since 1980 has taken over the entire area without any respite.
Presently dead fish are seen floating on surface of the lake. Also, there was a slight hope that a storm,Don was to to approach this state last week but that too was not to be.
Some religious priests predict that the lake turning red is a sign of the end of the world however the officials at the reservoir say that a special kind of bacteria,Chromataceae, thrive in oxygen deprived stagnant lake waters which changes the color to red.
It is hoped things change for the better and there is rain to fill the lake again.
