
"Terrorists trained abroad" are behind the attacks in Xinjiang who have made a total of 19 died during the weekend, announced Monday the official Xinhua news agency, quoting government sources citing Pakistan.
Fourteen people were killed Saturday and Sunday in attacks with knives by Uighurs, Turkic-speaking Muslim minority and Xinjiang (northwest) and five assailants by police in the city of Kashgar, according official sources.
"A group of religious extremists led by the perpetrators trained in terrorist camps abroad are behind the attacks," said the city of Kashgar, quoted by the agency.
According to Xinhua, the first elements of inquiry to establish that the leaders of this group "have learned how to handle explosives and firearms in the camps outside of Etim (East Turkistan Islamic Movement) in Pakistan before coming to Xinjiang, "assured the authorities of Kashgar in a statement on their website quoted by Xinhua.
