Guests arrived outside Canongate Kirk on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile for the wedding of English Rugby captainand Zara Philips, the granddaughter of on July 30, 2011 in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The bride arrived in her understated ivory gown and veil escorted by her father Captain Mark Phillips. Zara’s gown was ivory silk faille and silk duchesse satin by Stewart Parvin, a couturier to the Queen and to Anne, the Princess Royal.
Chosen from the White Room boutique in Minchinhampton, Glos, near her mother's Gatcombe estate, the wedding dress had a chevron-pleated bodice, a dropped waist, and a "cathedral-length" train, and was designed to create a "bell-shaped" silhouette.
Zara, 30, wore an Artthemed Greek Key patterned diamond tiara given to her by her mother, the Princess Royal.
The bride’s natural looking make-up was from Bobbi Brown, while her hair was worn in a swept-up chignon, styled by the Mayfair salon Michael John’s stylist Evangelos Tsaipkinis.
Dolly Maude, Zara’s horse trainer, accompanied Zara as her maid of honor, with her six-year-old son Ted who is Zara’s godson was the page boy.
Wearing dresses by local dressmaker Sue Palmer, Zara’s bridesmaids were Stephanie Phillips, Miss Phillips's half-sister, the daughter of Captain Mark Phillips and his second wife Sandy Pflueger, Nell Maude, Jaz Jocelyn and Hope Balshaw.
Mike Tindall, 32, then arrived at the kirk around 1:45 p.m., with Zara’s older brother, who acted as an usher.
Tindall was joined at the alter by best man, 32, who is his former Gloucester and England team-mate, sporting a black eye from a moped accident in France earlier this month, as well as his groomsman, James Simpson-Daniel, 28, an England team-mate.
Outfits for the groom, the best-man and the ushers were tailored by Cad & the Dandy, made from black barathea cloth from Huddersfield in Yorkshire, where Tindall’s family comes from.
