Plane crashes into houses in Manchester

The aircraft got here down at about 12.20pm in Salford - about 4 miles from Barton airport.

The pilot and his passenger are being handled in hospital however no one in the homes was hurt.

Speaking at the scene in Newlands Avenue, Irlam. Larger Manchester Fire Service station commander Paul Duggan mentioned an occupant of one of many houses and neighbours rushed to help the stricken pilot and his passenger.

He mentioned: "The light plane has crashed between and into two semi-detached houses.

"The plane had additionally caught fireplace so plenty of people, together with an occupant of the property, two passers-by and a passing police officer, then tried to struggle the fireplace by placing water on it.

Mr Duggan stated a man who was inside the home struck by the airplane was unhurt and managed to assist the rescue.

Locals who noticed and heard the crash described the scene as being like something from a disaster movie.
