Hillary Clinton counters Tim Gunn with pink and pearls!

There wasn’t much left for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to do but come back against Tim Gunn’s unflattering remark but wear a delicious pink jacket and feminine pearls as she visited the Norwegian Embassy today in Washington DC.

Appearing on the George Lopez Show the night before, Tim Gunn, the stylish 57-year-old fashion expert and critic and judge on Project Runway had the harshest things to say about women in politics.

Picking on Hilary, Gunn said that she was the Secretary of State, a former senator from New York as well as a former first lady but why must she dress that way?

Gunn then went on to say that Hillary Clinton was confused about her gender because she wore all those big, baggy menswear tailored pantsuits and oh yes, he was “really serious!”

At an attempt at damage control, Gunn then tried his hand at being diplomatic by tactfully explained that he did however have great respect for her intellect, her persistence and for what she does for the United States in her governmental role but he just wished that she could send a stronger message out about American fashion.

Of course we’ll never know if someone was paying attention to the dialogue between Gunn and Lopez and advised her but Mrs Clinton wore a rather feminine outfit the next day.

Good for you Hillary – the hair was nicely done too!
