29 people were killed and 88 more were wounded after 16 bombs exploded around various neighborhoods of the city in Gujurat. The bombs exploded in two waves, and officials say they are unsure whether the two sets of explosions are connected. They have alos been unable to identify those who are responsible.
The minister of gujurat Narendra Modi has called a "crime against humanity." And though no group has claimed responsibility for the attacks, officials certainly have theories. "Anti-national elements have been trying to create panic among the people of our country. Today's blasts in Ahmadabad seem to be part of the same strategy," said federal Home Minister Shivraj Patil.
