The long-missing British child Madeleine McCann was sighted in India according to the latest reports which have come in Reports have come in from India that the long-missing Madeleine McCann was sighted there a few days ago. According to the details which have emerged, some British tourists saw a girl who looked remarkably like Madeleine McCann. The girl was supposedly with her parents, but the British tourists were quite sure that something must be wrong as the girl bore remarkable resemblance to Madeleine McCann.
The sighting took place in India’s northern city of Leh, which is located alongside the Himalayas. The girl was recognized as Madeleine McCann by a British tourist and other witnesses were also present at the event. The tourist claimed that he immediately thought that the girl was Madeleine McCann, as he was very familiar with her much-publicized face. The scene became pretty heated as one of the American tourists tried to pry the girl from her supposed parents. The girl’s father was a Belgian man whereas the mother was a French woman. Local police were called to the scene and they made copies of the couple’s passports, in case need arose for their arrest. During this entire episode the couple remained very calm and kept insisting that the girl was their own daughter. A spokesman for Leh police told the local media; “It all depends upon the evidence like DNA for which help from Madeleine's parents and the British police was required.”
Madeleine McCann was three-years-old when she mysteriously disappeared four years back. She was apparently kidnapped from her family’s holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, in Portugal on May, 2007. Her disappearance sparked a world-wide search for her and everywhere her posters could be seen. Her parents have still not given up and think that their child is still alive out there. Clarence Mitchell, spokesman for Madeleine’s parents Gerry and Kate McCann, has reported; “Our private investigators are aware of the reports from India over the weekend about a possible sighting of Madeleine. We are liaising with the Indian authorities over the incident and await the results of the DNA test.”
Madeleine McCann’s parents are still continuing to search for their daughter even after the Portuguese police officially closed the case three years ago. Now they are relying on private detectives to somehow provide leads as to where she might be. They recently released a book which described the events surrounding her disappearance and they hope that one day their efforts will pay-off.
