For eight months has been sitting under a Slovak name of his brother in prison without the police and the court noted.

Blame for the unprecedented in Slovakia was sloppy identity confusion in a summary trial before the court, but the prisoner himself, reported the news portal on Wednesday.

The several previous Viktor P. had thus spent as his brother, Peter P., when he was caught in October 2010 during a robbery in the city of Spisska Nova Ves. He has appeared in court under the name of his unsuspecting brother: Thanks to its clean vest he was given a lighter sentence than he would have even threatened because of his criminal record.

Although he could not identify himself, but he was all "his" personal information obtained in such an impeccable line with the official registers of the police that both police officers and judges also gave up an investigation. Even the existing photo in the Census of similar-looking brother seemed to fit. It was not until a much later the discarding DNA comparison between the prisoners and offenders register could fly up the fraud. The trial of Viktor P. is reopened.
