
UEFA Champions League widely considered as the most prestigious football club competition in the world announced its results of third qualifying round draw Friday.
The three knockout qualifying rounds and a play-off round begins in mid-July. The games will be played on July 28 and August 4, with the 35 winners progressing to join 26 so-far exempted clubs, according to UEFA website.
The eight group winners and eight runners-up enter the final knockout phase, which ends with the final match in May.
Real Madrid is the all time winner in the competition havin won ninth times. Barcelona of Spain are the current champions, by beating Manchester United in the 2011 final last 28 May 2011.
UEFA general secretary Gianni Infantino reminded the clubs of their duties to show respect for the game and its values at the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round draws for both competitions at the House of European Football in Nyon on Friday.
